I love this beer. Even though it is brewed in Cooperstown NY (yes the one with the baseball hall of fame) it is very close to a true Belgian treppe dubbel. Truth is it is better than some of the Belgian dubbels I have had. It is subtle and simple and very well done.

It is a very dark beer with a light red tint and a nice tan head. The taste has a  sweetness to it that is heavy on molasses and a slight fruitiness. There is almost no bitterness with this beer either. It is very smooth and is very drinkable.

This is nap time beer though so be warned. It is high in alcohol and is a little heavy so if you are tired when you drink this it will put you down. It is what I would call a comfort beer. It doesn't reach out and grab you with its bold taste,. This is a beer that just makes you happy when you drink it.

What to drink with:

Any kind of hearty Stew, beef dishes with a heavy sauce, dessert with caramel
